Reducing Your Okidata C5150 Toner Costs
If you recently purchased an Okidata LED color printer you may be looking for innovative ways to save on Okidata C5150 toner without resorting to purchasing lower quality toner cartridges or simply printing less. Cutting costs is a big deal in many small businesses at the moment as they all adjust to survive present circumstances, and printing costs have been identified in many businesses as taking up an inordinate amount of monetary resources in less regimented organizations. It is only natural to want to cut costs where you can, and this is one area that seems ripe for the scissors. Fortunately there are a couple of handy tricks to reducing the amount of toner your Okidata printer uses by following these simple steps.
For starters, make sure to print using only black toner as much as possible. The color toners for Okidata printers can cost up to twice as much as black carbon-based toner, so if the color is not necessary do without. Secondly you will want to to into your Printer Preferences/Properties menu and change the settings to “Draft” in order to reduce the amount of toner used on each page. You can always change this setting later, so save on the toner now and switch it over when you have an important project later. There is also a Toner Saving mode that can be selected on the same page, near the Draft setting; be sure to check this option. Between the two your printer will go through much less Okidata C5150 toner, and both of these settings can later be reversed.
If changing the settings is not enough to reduce your costs you may be forced to look into purchasing compatible cartridges by third party manufacturers, or even refilling your Okidata cartridge on your own. Be sure to thoroughly research how to refill the toner before embarking on the project, and remember that each cartridge can only be refilled about three times.
